The full post mortem results won't be known for several weeks
The Sherriff of Minnesota County where Prince had his home, Jim Olson, has said: “We have no reason to believe at this point that this was a suicide. There was no sign of trauma at all.”
While suicide has been ruled out, the full results of the post mortem carried out on Friday won’t be known for several weeks.
The singer was found unresponsive in a Paisley Park elevator on Thursday morning, and pronounced dead at 10.07am local time.
Meanwhile, the superstar tributes continue with Stevie Wonder talking at length to CNN about his friend. Hot Press readers may recall Questlove telling us about the time Prince, Stevie and himself jammed out an entire set of Wonder classics in Paisley Park.
“I’d always made a rule to never, ever befriend your heroes, because they can disappoint you,” he said. “However, he’s a bit of a cool dude. Probably the greatest night of my life was being in his house with him on bass and Stevie Wonder on keyboards. It was like an all-star jam at his house for about two hours. We did Stevie’s whole catalogue – that was the greatest thing ever.”
That and many other Princely tales will be told in the next issue of Hot Press, out on Thursday.
