'Drag Me Down' jumps straight in at the summit
Given the amount of time that the likes of Lost Frequencies, Major Lazer and Walk The Moon have spent in and around the top of the Irish singles chart, it was definitely going to take something big to break the status quo.
But, in case you missed it, One Direction are pretty damn big.
The quintet-turned-quartet have shot straight to the top of the rundown this week with 'Drag Me Down'. It's their first single without Zayn Malik, but - as though there was any doubt - their selling power is undiminished.
It's followed by last week's bestseller 'Are You With Me?', while 'Shut Up And Dance' and 'Lean On' all remain near the top. The Weeknd's 'Can't Feel My Face' climbs five spots from No. 13; that's the only other intruder upon last week's top ten.
