Internationally-acclaimed Irish trumpeter Niall O’Sullivan announces Irish ‘Home for Christmas’ tour, as well as a special gig he's planning in aid of Fr McVerry's homeless charity.
The festive tour starts in Niall’s hometown of Dublin on Wednesday, 6 December at the Civic Theatre, Tallaght, and then moves to the Riverbank Arts Centre, Newbridge, Co. Kildare and concludes at the Crescent Arts Centre, Belfast.
The Irish tour wraps up a successful and exciting year for Niall as he returns home following a period travelling the world and performing with his fiancée and vocalist Shóna.
Following their sold out Valentine’s Irish tour, this musical couple have spent over half of 2017 on the road with performances in the USA, Scandinavia and Europe.
Home for Christmas sees Niall perform with some of the finest musicians in Ireland and guest vocalists including West End Star Brian Gilligan, Ireland’s finest crooner Simon Morgan and singing sensation Shóna.
Crowds will be treated to re-imagined Christmas favourites and classic songs from stage and screen including The Christmas Song, White Christmas, O Holy Night and of course I’ll be Home for Christmas.
Commenting on the upcoming tour, Niall O’Sullivan tells Hot Press: “This year has been crazy for us. After our sold out Irish shows in February, Shóna and I got engaged which was the absolute highlight of the year.
"We are delighted to be coming ‘Home for Christmas’ and playing these shows to our incredibly loyal Irish supporters and to spend quality time with our family and friends. There really is no place like home for concerts, especially at Christmas time. Earlier this year, we hit the USA where we had several sold out performances in some iconic venues, including the legendary trumpet player Herb Alpert’s Jazz venue in Bel Air, Los Angeles.
"Throughout our US dates, fans travelled from Coast to Coast to hear us perform, and we would like to sincerely thank them for their great support. We also performed in Scandinavia and in Continental Europe for the first time, and this again was an amazing experience.”
In addition to this, Niall also announced today a concert ‘A Winter’s Tale’ in aid of the Fr Peter McVerry Trust on 3 December at Foxrock Church Co. Dublin.
For this concert, Niall will join forces with the Foxrock parish choir, Brian Gilligan and Shóna to raise money for the charity set up by Fr Peter McVerry to reduce homelessness and the harm caused by drug misuse and social disadvantage.
