Low In High-School drops in November on his own label.
After very publicly clashing with his former label, Harvest, Morrissey is setting up his own Etienne Records imprint in conjunction with BMG.
It officially launches on November 17 with Low In High-School, the follow-up to 2014’s World Peace Is None Of Your Business, which was partially assembled in Ennio Morricone’s Forum Studios in Rome.
Production duties fall to Joe Chiccarelli who’s previously worked with the likes of The White Stripes, Beck, The Strokes and Frank Zappa. The November 10 launch party gig takes place in the Hollywood Bowl.
“There are not many artists around today that can compare to Morrissey,” enthuses BMG's Korda Marshall. “He's an extraordinary talent. He is prodigious, literate, witty, elegant and above all, courageous. His lyrics, humour and melodies have influenced many generations. The music on this new landmark record will speak for itself and we are delighted to welcome him to BMG.”
Mozza is currently the subject of England Is Mine, an unofficial biopic focusing on his pre-Smiths teenage years.
