The legendary band has taken to Twitter to announce that they'll be donating their prize fund to charity for the Polar Music Prize, which is often described as Sweden's music version of the Nobel Prize.
As we reported yesterday, the band will receive the prestigious award on 14 June.
It comes with one million SEK prize fund and Metallica will donate it to their charity All Within My Hands.
Thank you very much @Metallica and @AWMHFoundation for raising awareness of homeless people. Tonight, part of each ticket sold will benefit #nobodysleepingonthestreet! #MetInBarcelona #metallicagivesback pic.twitter.com/spUSBdKxII
