The first live Brits since 1989 took place at Earl's Court in London last night, with Lily Allen walking away empty-handed despite being the most nominated artist.
The mouthy maiden lost out to Amy Winehouse in the British Female category; The Fratellis in British Breakthrough Act, Arctic Monkeys for the British Album award, and radio listeners voted her out of the British Single category for 'Smile' on Sunday.
But it was no surprise to her - she predicted at the start of the show in "I bet you £100 I'll get nothing.
"The judging committee are all industry insiders and they're predominantly from Universal (records) - and I'm on EMI. I think you'll find that 70% of the artists here tonight are on Universal."
While that may have been true for one of the night's big winners - The Killers, who took the prize for Best International Album and Best International Group - the Domino-signed Arctic Monkeys also walked away with two gongs.
Flying the Irish flag on the night were Snow Patrol, but they failed to take home any awards despite receiving nominations for British Album, British Group and Best Single.
Other winning acts included James Morrison (British Solo Male); Take That (British Single for 'Patience'); Muse (British Live Act); British Breakthrough Act (The Fratellis); Justin Timberlake (International Male Solo); Nelly Furtado (International Female Solo); Orson (International Breakthrough Act (Orson) and Oasis picked up the Outstanding Contribution To Music before ending the show with a medley of their songs.
Each of the winner can expect a significant rise in album sales. HMV's Gennaro Castaldo said: "HMV often experiences a doubling or even a trebling in sales of BRITs winners and performers.
"This year we're likely to see one of the biggest-ever uplifts in album sales resulting from the show's first live TV broadcast since 1989 combined with the growing popularity of music downloads."
