Gavin Glass, Square Pegs, The Drays and more announced for charity concert in memory of former Band member
Saturday April 16 will see The Sugar Club host the fourth annual show in remembrance of legendary musician Levon Helm.
The drummer and singer with seminal Americana outfit The Band who passed away in 2012 will be celebrated by a stellar cast including Gavin Glass, Square Pegs - featuring Graham Hopkins (The Frames) and Colm Quearney (ex-Lir), The Group (Last Waltz Tribute Act), The Drays, Carol Keogh, Rag Mama Rag and some very special guests to be announced. Each act will perform music from all stages of Levon’s career, from early act The Hawks (with Ronnie Hawkins) through to his final solo output.
Levon’s work with The Band includes the classic albums Music From Big Pink, The Band and the era-defining long-player and concert film The Last Waltz. In addition, he had a successful solo career; his last three solo albums Dirt Farmer, Electric Dirt and Ramble At The Ryman were all Grammy Award winners.
