"It’s definitely time to put up or shut up," David McGloughlin says in the Hot Press Annual.
A year that's included massive festival performances and a well-received 3D show almost behind them, Irish dance heroes Le Galaxie catch up with Hot Press in the Annual, where they talk about their 2014 plans.
According to David McGloughlin, the second album proper is due in March and the band have been working with former DFA house engineer and ex-LCD Soundsystem man Eric Broucek.
“It’s definitely time to put up or shut up, from that point of view,” the musician says. “We’re very hopeful about this album. It’s already in the bag, though. The first six songs were written straight after Fade 2 Forever came out and then in April of this year, we forced ourselves to stop gigging and went to the country, to Slane of all places, which is an unusual spot to write electro tunes! We basically went on a bit of a retreat. It was really productive; we wrote about six or seven songs in the space of a few days. It all just poured out. It was very spontaneous and happened quickly but we’re very happy with how it turned out.”
Also on the agenda in the Annual piece is the state of electronic music, working titles for the forthcoming album and a look back at that 3D gig.
