After it was announced that Beyoncé would not be playing Coachella due to her doctors' advice to maintain a more relaxed schedule, there was concern about who would be assigned to replace her. No worries though, as Lady Gaga has stepped in to cover for both Saturdays (April 15 and 22). Beyoncé has been confirmed to headline for next year, Coachella 2018.
Given that a female performer has not headlined the festival since Björk in 2007, it was of the upmost importance to organisers to find another female performer to replace her. Gaga was thankfully available, despite the fact that the next few months will be busy for her, with this performance as well as her Joanne World Tour this summer.
On Twitter, Gaga posted a picture of the full lineup, saying, "Let's party in the desert!"
