Make sure to check out his Hot Press Interview in our new issue, out tomorrow
Kevin Barry has tonight won the Goldsmiths Prize 2015 which is worth a bank manager-pleasing £10,000.
Barry, who is the subject of a major interview in the new Hot Press, fended off stiff competition from Acts Of The Assassins by Richard Beard; The Field Of The Cloth Of Gold by Magnus Mills; Satin Island by Tom McCarthy; Grief Is The Thing With Feathers by Max Porter; and Lurid & Cute by Adam Thirlwell with his new novel, Beatlebone.
“Intricately weaving and blurring fiction and life, Beatlebone embodies beautifully this prize’s spirit of creative risk,” reflected Chairman of the Judges, Professor Josh Cohen. “We’re proud to crown it our winner.”
The announcement was made at Foyle’s bookshop in London.
