He's beaten the likes of Ed Sheeran and Mark Ronson to the prestigious BBC Song of the Year in Birmingham
2015 just keeps getting better for Hozier who has won the BBC Song of the Year with ‘Take Me To Church’.
Part of the BBC Music Awards that took place yesterday in Birmingham, he was up against the heavyweight likes of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Bloodstream’, Ellie Goulding’s ‘Love Me Like You Do’, Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars’ ‘Uptown Funk’ and The Weeknd’s ‘Can’t Feel My Face’, and triumphed by dint of a public vote.
A visibly shocked Hozier said he hadn’t expected to beat such “absolute juggernauts” and “amazing songs”.
But win he did and we’re very proud of him! Hozier found time in his insane schedule last week to talk to our man Olaf Tyaransen, with the results appearing in the exceedingly bumper Hot Press 2016 Annual, which will be with you next week.
