A host of Irish talent will come together on June 30 for a worthwhile fund-raising event in Navan
The tragic death of singer/songwriter and young mother Cleina Lynch in 1999 is proof that a seemingly futile death need not be in vain. Not only did Cleina’s donated organs save the lives of six people, her story also led to the inception of a benefit gig which has been extremely successful since its first run in 2000.
Every year, several popular Irish acts support the event and all proceeds go to the National Kidney and Pancreas Transplant Centre at Beaumont Hospital and the Irish Kidney Association and Citizens Information Centre.
This year, the Hothouse Flowers will be lending their name to the lineup, along with Bagatelle, who celebrated their 25th anniversary last year and are still going strong. Also playing on the night are Brian McFadden protégés Franklin, Blues Up Front (complete with ex-Thin Lizzy drummer), Dublin-based Lotusland and singer/songwriter Ray Murtagh.
