Not inhabiting Metropolis for the weekend? We've got you covered.
Team Hot Press will be revelling in the musical action taking place in Dublin's RDS as the inaugural Metropolis takes place this weekend and we hope you can join us.
If you've got your ticket but are not fully decided on what to check out, it's well worth reading our Metropolis Must-Sees from HOME andABROAD.
If you're not RDS-bound however, there's still plenty to catch on a stage near you.
FRIDAY
They'll be in Dublin for the urban festival on Saturday, but first Hot Chip have an engagement with Belfast. Their Limelight show is our Gig Of The Day.
With tunes like this, it's easy to hear why.
Elsewhere, fans of glorious post-hardcore noise should be heading for Wexford Street tonight. Canadian Sub Poppers METZ are in Whelan's. An acclaimed live force of nature, they dropped the monstrously massive II earlier in 2015 (try it out for size below) and by all accounts are in the form of their lives.
"We take our noise and our feedback very seriously,” says frontman Alex Edkins. “The more we do this, the more we realise there’s no such thing as right or wrong in music. It comes down to feel. And if it feels good, it works. This time we sorta said, 'This is who we are. We are not going to clean up our sound, we are not going to hire a big producer, we are not going to try to write a radio song. We are going to be honest and leave the warts for all to see. We are really happy with how it turned out."
Dolan's in Limerick plays host to some adored Downpatrick rockers (not Ash).
With their classic Wildflowers and Karma Calling getting the re-release treatment through a new deal inked with Universal, Relish have made a welcome return to the scene. Single 'Got It Made' announced their comeback this summer, and now brothers Ken and Carl Papenfus - the current two-headed incarnation of the band - are strutting their stuff in the live setting.
The past few years have seen an array of exciting departures – from performances in jazz operas and performing the soundtrack for John Carney's upcoming Sing Street to touring the world as part of Sinead O’Connor’s band.
SATURDAY
In Sligo, Rackhouse Pilfer play 5th On Teeling. Fresh from recording two tracks for legendary Welsh crooner Tom Jones' latest album, the bluegrass sextet are in their hometown for what should be a typically gripping performance. The band were named Jägermeister Live Band of the Year 2015 by Hot Press, so you know they're good. Best of all, admission is free.
SUNDAY
Our weekend finishes out west, as Hot Press Big Break winner Ciaran Lavery does his critically-adored thing on the Monroe's Live stage. With his career in swift ascent, the Aghagallon songwriter's forlorn but captivating songs are now earning him plaudits at home and abroad.
A tremendous new voice seriously worth checking out.
