Thursday sees HamsandwicH and R.S.A.G. teaming up for the second Bow Street Sessions, brought to you by Jameson and Hot Press - Niamh Farrell gives us an update on how preparations are going
It's almost time for the second renewal of Bow Street Sessions, a night of exciting collaborations, interesting combinations and one or two surprises too, brought to you by Jameson and Hot Press.
With just days to go until HamsandwicH join R.S.A.G. at the Old Jameson Distillery, we caught up with frontwoman Niamh Farrell, who's brimming with excitement ahead of the big event.
"I’ve done a good bit of collaboration before – with the Turning Pirate Mixtape things and so on – but we haven’t done so much as a band," she reports. "The lads are really embracing it, and having a great buzz with Jeremy. He’s going to get involved with us, we’re getting involved with his, and doing different bits of stuff."
And while it's always recommended that attendees should expect the unexpected, Niamh admits that even she got a surprise when she had to dash from a practice session.
"The rehearsal was great, but I had to leave early. The guys worked on a particular cover, and sent me on the recording; anyone who’s going to the gig is in for a real treat, because it sounded amazing."
There's also the prospect of a very special guest, who stopped the SandwicHers dead in their tracks.
"Amaron is like nothing I've seen," Niamh enthuses. "We were standing about on a break, and he went to test the levels on his mic. Everyone just stopped what they were doing, staring at him – he was incredible! The whole night is going to be a good mix of stuff, and that’s something I really like."
With just two days to go, neither can we!
