Gorillaz founder and animator Jamie Hewlett posted the photo below on Instagram entitled 'Bad David'.
Gorillaz are no strangers to impressive collaborations. On their last album alone the cartoon band have attracted the late Lou Reed and Bobby Womack, Little Dragons and Snoop Dogg.
David Bowie it seems wouldn't beyond the realms of possibility for David Albarn's band and seeing as the Thin White Duke is back in fully fledged recording action, a return to the studio with one of the most innovative bands of the last decades would be a collaboration to look out for.
After Plastic Beach, Jamie Hewlett stated that Gorillaz were finished as he had grown tired of engaging with the same animations day after day. However, speaking to DIY magazine it's clear that his excitement for the Gorillaz project has returned.

"I’m working on it at the moment, and it’s going very well. I’m very excited. I don’t want to say too much about it, but I’m at that phase of experimentation. What I try not to do when I’m working in this creative period, the cooking of the mess, is go to other peoples’ exhibitions and look at other peoples’ work. I close my eyes, and don’t want to know what anyone else is doing. Doing that has kind of ruined the creative process for me in the past, and I don’t want to let that happen again."
The highly anticipated fifth album will be out next year.
