Glen Hansard is among those recalling My First Time In Hot Press as part of our bumper 900th Issue, which is in shops now with Ham Sandwich's Niamh Farrell on the cover.
"Not only can I remember The Frames' first time in Hot Press, but I can also quote you one of the lines," he smiles."This young guy, Michael O'Hara, who was taking a chance on us said about Noreen," 'When she sings, a million silver fish with jewels on their backs and pearls in their mouth swim out.' We were all just knocked out."
Glen also talks about hooking legendary HP scribe Bill Graham up with Jeff Buckley ("There was an immediate trust thing"); The Frames being somewhat sartorially challenged in the early days ("We had no collective style at all, such a mess") and his new solo record ("When it comes out during the summer I'll be on to you demanding another Hot Press cover!")
