The Oscar winning singer-songwriter performed a track for RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta
Singer and musician Glen Hansard performed the song 'Óró mo Bháidín', as Gaeilge live on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta yesterday from Cantabria in Spain.
Glen has currently joined well-known Kerry musician Breanndán Begley, seasoned seaman and author Danny Mac an tSíthigh, and artist Liam Holden from Kilkenny, as they row in a naomhóg, a type of currach, which they have nicknamed Naomhóg na Tinte, to Santiago de Compostela in Spain.
The crew can be heard each week on RnaG programme An Saol ó Dheas reporting on their progress, and they were told to teach Glen some Irish so that he too could speak on the show.
On Monday, Glen came on the line to sing Óró mo Bháidín live from Castro Urdiales, west of Bilbao, much to the delight of presenter Helen Ní Shé, who was very impressed.
