There's a massive week of shows coming up in the Concert Hall
The National Concert Hall has announced details of Imagining Home, a 1916-commemorating series of gigs and discussions taking place from March 28-April 3.
The themed nights include:
March 28 - America with Rosanne Cash, Paul Brady, Maura O’Connell, Rodney Crowell, Andy Irvine, Tim O’Brien & Mick Moloney.
March 29 - England with Martin Carthy, Camille O’Sullivan, Cáit O’Riordan, Paul Brady, Andy Irvine, Cathal Coughlan & Lisa O’Neill.
March 30 - Into Europe with Lisa Dwan performing Samuel Beckett’s Not I and Footfalls, Fintan O’Toole on Roger Casement and human rights, pianist Barry Douglas and Camerata Ireland.
March 31 - On Revolution with Joseph O’Neill, Ahdaf Soueif, Hisham Matar, Pankaj Mishra, Adam Zagajewski, the premiere of Casement/Conrad by Colm Tóibín and Donnacha Dennehy feat. Crash Ensemble.
April 1 - The Literary Imagination with John Banville, Anne Enright, Colm Tóibín, Eavan Boland, Nuala Ní Dhomhnaill, John Montague, Marina Carr, Kevin Barry and Paul Muldoon.
April 2 - This Is Ireland with Glen Hansard and musical friends.
April 3 - Out Of The Tradition with Martin Hayes & Dennis Cahill, Usher’s Island, the Tulla Céilí Band, Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh and Iarla Ó Lionáird.
On the other side of the water, London’s Royal Festival Hall hosts an Imagining Home: Imagining Ireland gig on April 29 with Paul Brady, Camille O’Sullivan, James Vincent McMorrow, Martin Hayes & Dennis Cahill, Andy Irvine, Cait O’Riordan, Martin Carthy & John Kelly doing the honours.
Tickets for all the Dublin dates go on sale on Monday November 23.
