'Death Dream' is the first taste of Painting of a Panic Attack
Frightened Rabbit have confirmed the release of their fifth studio album, Painting of a Panic Attack.
The LP will hit shelves on April 8, and benefits from the considerable production skills of The National's Aaron Dessner. In case we weren't already eagerly awaiting the latest cut from the Scottish outfit, they've teased the collection with 'Death Dream', the album's opening track.
The usual touchstones of F'Rabbit's output are still present and correct, though a slightly darker edge might be in play. This follows comments from frontman - and candidate for loveliest bloke in music - Scott Hutchison, who last year told Gigwise: "The new stuff sounds sparser, it's less guitar driven. Potentially darker as well, but we'll wait and see.
"I've gone through various states of turmoil and I think that's going to be evident."
