Just four weeks to go until Wu Tang Clan, Fatboy Slim, Richie Hawtin and a host of others hit Kilmainham
As the sun begins to shine, the countdown is on for one of the summer's hottest musical tickets.
Forbidden Fruit is back on the June Bank Holiday weekend, and the line-up for this year's festival is a veritable feast; from bona fide legends Wu Tang Clan and Fatboy Slim to bright young things like Earl Sweatshirt and Kelela, it's a bill stacked with exciting acts.
The aforementioned Norman Cook takes centre stage on Friday night, with Nicholas Jaar and Disciples helping the weekend to start with a bang.
Saturday, meanwhile, will see hip-hop royalty helming proceedings, as the inimitable Wu Tang Clan lead the charge. There's plenty more high quality entertainment of the rhythm and rhyme persuasion too, with Earl Sweatshirt, Joey Bada$$ and homegrown heroes Rusangano Family also doing their thing. Groove Armada will be responsible for getting feet moving, but they're far from the only decorated act to be hitting the wheels of steel; Mr Scruff will contribute a marathon three-hour set, while Bakermat, Floating Points and Mount Kimbie will dropping beats through the day.
Other highlights of the Saturday will include the outstanding Jamie xx, DC head-turner Kelela and a pair of Irish acts who can mix it with the best; Big Break 2014 winner Rocstrong, and the awe-inspiring Booka Brass Band.
The final day will the hip-hop magic continue in the shape of Run The Jewels, but Team HP will be planning on a day for the dancing shoes; Maya Jane Coles, Booka Shade, and Cyril Hahn all take the stage, before Detroit lynchpin Richie Hawtin rounds off proceedings. With Gorgon City, Adam Beyer, Matador, and Whilk and Misky all lining up, as well as Dusky, Tensnake and Sleep Thieves, it promises to be a weekend that ends in style.
Of course, there's also the laughing matter of the comedy tent, where David McSavage, Jarlath Regan, Kevin McGahern and John Colleary will be among the big names splitting sides, along with the winner of the current Forbidden Fruit Comedy Talent Search.
