Listen to their Welcome Home EP here.
Sacred Animals are the latest Irish act to be confirmed for this year’s Eurosonic festival, which is taking place on January 12 and 13 in the northern Dutch city of Groningen.
Signed to Dublin independent Delphi Records, the ambient electronica merchants have been causing a major stir with their limited edition Welcome Home four-track CD, which can be ordered from [link]sacredanimals.net[/link] for €3.
Official Irish partners for the showcase event, Hot Press will be on hand to check out the 200-plus acts who also include Heathers and James Vincent McMorrow; Claire Maguire who’s just made it onto the BBC Sound of 2011 Shortlist; fellow BBC shortlister and new dubstepper on the block James Blake; hotshot London rapper Example; left-field Essex producer Gold Panda; alt. folksters This Is The Kit; Icelandic oddballs Retro Stefson; and Kiss The Anus Of A Black Cat, another alt. folk outfit from Belgium who may find airplay opportunities in English-speaking countries limited.
As usual, 2fm will be broadcasting live from Eurosonic with a full preview in HP’s special Hot For 2011 issue, which is out on Thursday January 12.
In the meantime, if you fancy attending the four-day industry conference that runs alongside the showcase see [link]www.eurosonic-noorderslag.nl/en
