Ed Sheeran wins big at last night's ceremony
Hozier fell to Pharrell and Madonna fell to a small flight of stairs at last night's Brit Awards, a night of some predictable outcomes, some fun performances, and some disappointment for Irish music fans.
Hozier was up for Best International Solo Artist against the likes of Mr. Williams, Beck, Jack White and John Legend, but all fell to the might of the 'Get Lucky' and 'Happy' singer, who has had a stellar few years.
British talent was expectedly at the forefront, though, and Ed Sheeran picked up the British Album award for X and British Male Solo Artist, besting Sam Smith, George Ezra, Damon Albarn and Paolo Nutini.
International Female Solo Artist went to Taylor Swift, who dominated the year with 'Shake It Off' and 'Blank Space' (which she performed splendidly at the show) off of her hit album 1989.

Kanye West lit things up with a manic performance of new song 'All Day' that included flamethrowers and, as previously mentioned, Madonna took a dive down a short flight of stairs during her performance of 'Living for Love.' Which no one at Hot Press snickered at.
