The unyielding Suffolk singer enters the double digits as his third album, ÷, marks 10 weeks at the top of the Album Charts.
In a new arrangement, the Irish Recorded Music Association have decided to just give Ed Sheeran the top spot on the Irish charts this Friday, without even bothering to check their figures.
Asked about the decision, a spokesperson for IRMA said: "Oh he's a cute enough hoor, he'd probably have gotten the damn thing anyway. To save us counting, we decided that we'd introduce a new system. 'Top the charts for nine weeks, get the tenth one free', you know? Saves us a bit of hassle."
Asked if they were aware of anyone who hadn't bought the album yet, the spokesperson said: "We're looking into it."
Elsewhere in the charts, Kasabian's new album For Crying Out Loud enters in at No. 2. You can read all about Kasbian's recent adventures in our newest issue.
