He had originally planned to play Cork, Limerick and other Irish cities this summer.
Spare a thought for poor ol' Ed Sheeran this Monday – if what he said at a pre-Croker presser last Friday afternoon, he's currently nursing the mother of all hangovers.
The 'Sing' star triumphed at two sold-out Croke Park shows over the weekend, but he promised that next time, it wouldn't be all about Dublin.
Asked at the press conference when he would be heading for Cork's home of GAA– the currently-under-redevelopment Pair Ui Chaoimh that has previously hosted Michael Jackson and Bruce Springsteen – Ed was quite candid.
"Actually, there was a plan [to do something similar]," he revealed. "We weren't actually going to do Dublin. We were going to do Cork and Limerick and all the places other than Dublin. But I think that's a next tour thing.
"They were trying to persuade me to do it next week," he continued. "I was going to do Croker and then do a run of Ireland. But, one, I'd love to have the week off and, two, I know how much I'm probably going to drink after this show and it's going to be at least a week recovery!"
Once he recuperates and hits the road again, Cork, Limerick and nationwide fans can remind him of that promise!
