A showcase performance of the most outstanding competitors from this year’s Festival will perform at a celebratory Gala Concert in the National ConcertHall at 7.30pm on 11 April.
ESB Feis Ceoil attracts over 5,000 participants from all over Ireland. The beloved classical music competition run by Feis Ceoil Association has been held annually before Easter in Dublin since 1896.
The musical competitions at Feis are open to everyone to enjoy as an audience member. For a €5 daily ticket, all of the competitions, from opera performances to children’s choirs, are open to the public.
“As Ireland’s premier music competition, the Feis is a rite of passage for so many Irish students,” said Laura Gilsenan, CEO of ESB Feis Ceoil.
”Our young competitors, along with their teachers and parents, impress us every year and our international adjudicators often remark on the very high standard of our young musicians.”
Since 2008, the Feis has worked closely with ESB to innovate and keep the partnership changing and developing, including the development of a new brand identity for the organisation and a number of new competitions introduced over the past decade. This successful collaboration won the Best Long Term Partnership Award at the Allianz Business to Arts Awards in 2016.
