"I'm gonna say this and then we're gonna put it to rest".
DJ Drama has broken his silence about the Drake-Meek Mill beef to clarify his role in it.
Last year, Meek took to Twitter to accuse Drake of using a ghostwriter; diss tracks followed, and the beef has flamed up periodically ever since.
Now, DJ Drama has revealed his part in the beef on Hot 97's Ebro in the Morning. Drama told the interviewers that Meek thought Drake had dissed him with the line "the girl of your dreams to me is probably not a challenge" on the two rappers' collab track 'R.I.C.O.'
Meek believed the line had been referring to his girlfriend Nicki Minaj, whom Drake has discussed in romantic terms both in his interviews and in his lyrics.
DJ Drama, who is friends with Meek, told him that he was not being dissed, asserting that Drake did not even write the line. Meek took this as evidence that Drake was using a ghostwriter.
DJ Drama's involvement in the beef may extend even further. Last year, his ex-wife claimed via Twitter that the DJ had sent Meek Mill Quentin Miller reference tracks to Drake songs. Meek has publicly accused Miller of being Drake's ghostwriter, which Miller has vehemently denied.
His ex-wife's allegations and recent words on Hot 97 may point to DJ Drama being Meek Mill's main source for his accusations against Drake.
