The Lighthouse Cinema and The Sugar Club are among the first to line up events to mark the legend's passing
A pair of Dublin's entertainment powerhouses are among those celebrating the life and work of David Bowie this week.
The Lighthouse Cinema are rolling out a special screening of 1986’s Labyrinth, starring the late legend in what is considered by many as his most iconic film role as Jareth the Goblet King. The screening will take place on this Friday the 15th and Sunday 17th and all money raised by the film will be donated to the Irish Cancer Society.
Meanwhile, across the city in The Sugar Club, a special screening of the 1973 live concert documentary Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars will celebrate and commemorate the life and art of the late musical icon. The after party will follow on with DJs Tony Brererton, Sally Cinnamon and Gerry Molumby playing some of Bowie’s extensive catalogue and other artists that he worked with and influenced such as Iggy Pop, Mick Jagger and Queen.
