Experimental techno veterans Autechre are taking their cerebral blackout live experience to The National Concert Hall.
The duo, consisting of Rob Brown and Sean Booth, will plunge the Dublin venue into complete darkness for the duration of their performance, in an attempt to heighten the listening experience for the audience.
Originally from Rochdale, Manchester, Autechre was an integral component of the emergence of Intelligent Dance Music - or ambient techno - in the nineties alongside Aphex Twin and Boards of Canada.
Still on the roster at distinguished indie-label Warp Records, home to many of the world’s most innovative artists today, this will mark Autechre’s first Irish appearance since 2014 when they played the Tivoli.
Due to the nature of the show, organisers have warned that latecomers will not be admitted to the performance and that there are no re-admissions. They will, however, ensure that staff are on-hand to assist the audience with exiting the auditorium.

The show takes place on July 15 and tickets are on-sale May 10 for €35.
