Tim Wheeler has been talking about Ash's miraculous escape on Friday when their tour bus careered off the road in America.

"We were woken up, things were flying everywhere," he tells BBC Radio 1. "I look up and there's Charlotte lying in the middle of the aisle – bags everywhere – and then Rick sticks his head out from underneath her. It was pretty scary."

The worst injuries were sustained by drummer McMurray who's currently being examined by doctors to see if his ribs are broken or just badly bruised. If it's the former, the band will likely or not have to pull this weekend's Reading and Leeds festival appearances.

"We wouldn't have time to rehearse anyone else, and we just couldn't do it without him," Wheeler continues. "I guess we'll find out in the next few days, fingers crossed."
