To say they're chuffed is a bit of an understatement!
And So I Watch You From Afar are feeling justifiably pleased with themselves after landing support shows next week in Vienna, Luxembourg and Amsterdam with Them Crooked Vultures.
"We found out yesterday evening,” guitarist Rory Friers tells Hot Press. “We were just finishing up a rehearsal and had simultaneous phone calls from our manager, our tour manager and our booking agent. We were like, ‘What's going on?' Then Chris started running about the garden and we thought, 'What's happened?' and then it was like, ‘Yeah, so we're playing with Them Crooked Vultures!
“I think we were kind of put under their noses,” he continues, “and they all had a listen and invited us to play. We're trying to not fantasise too much about it! We just Google imaged all the venues and then swiftly went upstairs and put on a new pair of underwear. It's scary! We actually saw their second ever show at a festival last year. We stumbled into the tent where they were doing a secret gig and went, ‘Holy shit, who’s that on the bass?’ The first two records I ever bought were Led Zeppelin II and Nirvana's Bleach and then Josh Homme from Queens Of The Stone Age? You can't really fault it! We're trying to keep it cool, though. Definitely when we finish each night we want to do the, 'Stick around for the next band, they're really good!' routine."
