The youth wing of the Swiss People's Party (SVP) has been criticised for using an image of the recently deceased singer in an anti-drugs campaign.
The poster bearing an image of Amy Winehouse under the influence of drugs was posted online by a branch of the party's youth wing in Unterwallis, Switzerland. While fans were angered by the use of the image so close to the singer's death, Young SVP's President Gregory Logean has steadfastly defended the party in an interview with Swiss tabloid Blick:
“The death of Amy Winehouse put a sad reality before our eyes that other parties often forget - the harmful effects of drug consumption.
“Winehouse was known not only for her songs, but above all for her drug excesses.”

The party has regularly courted controversy in the past including an anti-immigration poster which depicted a black sheep being kicked out of Switzerland by white sheep.
