Hot Press can exclusively reveal the bill that accompanies the Red Bull X-Fighter Freestyle Motocrosss bash at Slane Castle - the headliner of which is Ash.
Having previously played there with U2, Ash return to Slane Castle on May 26 as part of the musical accompaniment to the Red Bull X Fighters extravaganza, which features one of the most ambitious Freestyle Motocross arenas ever seen. 7,000 tonnes of dirt and 12 kicker ramps will be brought in as the likes of Travis Pastrano and Dany Torres risk life and limb in the natural Boyneside amphitheatre.
Joining them on the suitably high octane bill are Director, The Blizzards and the Afro Celt Sound System who are reforming for the occasion.
The day pans out as follows:
5pm Site opens to the public
6.15pm Director
7pm The Blizzards
7.45pm Ash
8.45pm Red Bull X Fighters
10pm Half-time show with the Afro-Celt Sound System
10.20pm Red Bull X Fighters Semi-Final/Final
You can read a frontline report from the Mexican leg of the affray in the issue of Hot Press which is out tomorrow. Tickets priced €40 and €65 are on sale now.
