Westlife, Mundy and The Coronas for Obama gig later today
A host of top Irish acts will entertain the American President at College Green!
President Barack Obama has literally just touched down on his whirlwind 24-hour trip to these shores, the first time an American President has visited Ireland since Bush in 2004 but we have all the details on the star-studded gig happening on his behalf at College Green this afternoon.
With thousands of people expected to attend the gig and Obama's subsequent speech the best thing to do is brave the forecasted wind and rain and arrive in the city centre early. Gates open at 2pm and the only point of entrance is at the corner of Dame Street and Parliament Street with all surrounding streets closed.
Westlife, The Saw Doctors, Sharon Shannon, Imelda May, Mundy, The Coronas and Jedward have all been confirmed to play at the concert which is likely to begin sometime after 3pm with Obama expected to arrive back in Dublin from Moneygall, Co.Offaly around 4.30pm.
A host of other stars will also make an appearance at the concert including Brendan Gleeson, Gabriel Byrne and sports stars such as Brian O'Driscoll, Pádraig Harrington, Katie Taylor, Robbie Keane and Henry Shefflin.
Here at Hot Press HQ we're perfectly positioned just a stones throw away from proceedings to update you on any significant event details that might come to pass throughout the day so make sure to stay fixed on [link]hotpress.com[/link].
