The Filipino fighter has cut his own track for his ring walk, and shared his pre-fight playlist
If you notice a higher-than-normal amount of bleary-eyed folk on Sunday, it's likely to be the fault of Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao. The pair face off in Las Vegas in the early hours of Sunday morning in what is the richest prizefight in history.
Given the staggering amounts of money involved, you'd figure hiring someone to take care of the entrance music would be an easily-done thing ('Money' Mayweather, for instance, sometimes has 50 Cent or Lil' Wayne rap behind him as he walks to the ring), but Pacman has decided to keep it in-house, and record his entrance song himself.
'Lalaban Ako Para Sa Filipino' - or, in a literal translation, 'I will fight for the Filipino' - is a heartfelt ballad complete with soaring 1980s guitar flourishes. 'Momma Says Knock You Out' it ain't.
Mind, Manny's pre-fight playlist is a little unlikely too; he shared a Spotify collection which might start with the massively clichéd 'Eye Of The Tiger', but also features Ed Sheeran, Bombay Bicycle Club and Maroon 5. Oh, and two Ashanti songs. We can't really explain it either.
Check out the video - and jam out to Pacman's playlist - below.
