WATCH: Polica rock gastropods and a new album
Up-and-coming psychedelic rock act Polica on their slithering video 'Amongster'
Minus David Attenborough’s heavy breathing, the video for Polica’s ‘Amongster’ makes for uncomfortable viewing.
The fan-submitted opus is a treatise on the thriving sale of sex in pop videos, through the medium of energetic insect trysting. The video comes accompanied by an essay by frontwoman Channy Leaneagh, interviewed in the latest edition of Hot Press.
“If you’re a man you can just say, ‘Hey, this is who I am’,” muses Channy. “For women it’s more complicated… You have to know who you are. That’s why I admired the video and was happy to have it associated with the song.”
Psychedelic rock group from the wilds of Minneapolis, Polica have just released their debut album ‘Give You the Ghost’. Fans include Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon, and… Jay Z.
