Before they went on to form Slint, Brian McMahan and Britt Walford performed as the band Squirrel Bait. Now footage has been unearthed and posted of the band performing "Sun God" (from their self-titled EP) in 1985 at a club in Newport, Kentucky. According to David Grubbs, another member of Squirrel Bait, "This is the only live footage of the group that I'm aware of, and the first time that it has circulated." This clip was first revealed as an excerpt in the Slint documentary Breadcrumb Trail. The footage was shot by David Hintz and restored by the doc's director, Lance Bangs.
