The former Editor of RTÉ’s Six One and Nine News will head UTV Ireland's news and current affairs schedule.
UTV Ireland begins broadcasting from Dublin on Monday, January 5, next year and today brings the announcement of another big name addition to their team. Following the August news of Pat Kenny's move to the station, UTV Ireland has just revealed that they have appointed Marcus Lehnen as their Head Of News. Lehnen previously held senior positions in news and current affairs programming at BBC World Television News for some 15 years and was recently the editor of RTÉ’s Six One and Nine News.
He will now be overseeing Ireland Live and Ireland Live At 10 for UTV Ireland.
Lehnen said: "This is a very exciting time for the broadcast industry in Ireland. UTV is an excellent media group and the news and current affairs plans for UTV Ireland are fresh and ambitious. I am delighted to be joining the channel and I look forward to working with the UTV Ireland team."
