Paul McGuinness has spoken out against websites selling tickets for unconfirmed U2 dates in the UK and Ireland
Paul McGuinness has urged U2 fans not to buy from websites that are offering tickets for what he describes as "speculative dates."
A number of online ticket agencies were issued with cease and desist notices last week after offering £125 to £295 packages to what they claimed were confirmed shows in Croke Park, Dublin (June 26 & 27); Twickenham Park, London (July 2); and Stade De France, Paris (early July).
Stressing that nothing has been finalised yet, the U2 manager says: "We're still very much in the planning stages of our tour for next year which will visit the US, Canada, Europe, Japan and Australia, and the band is looking forward to getting out on the road.

"As soon as we have finalised the plans," McGuinness continues, "the tour will be announced on U2.com as usual and purchase instructions will be clearly available. Nothing is confirmed until the official tour announcement, no tickets will be on sale until after this time."
