U2 free Berlin Wall gig
U2 will perform a free show at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin to mark the 20th anniversary of the tearing down of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
The concert will take place on November 5 as part of the MTV Europe Music Awards being staged in Berlin. According to U2 manager Paul McGuinness "It'll be an exciting spot to be in, twenty years almost to the day since the wall came down. It should be fun."
The MTV event will be hosted by US singer Katy Perry who handled the same duties last year.
U2 lived in Berlin in 1990 working at the Hansa Studios on their album Achtung Baby.
