Donovan heads up the star-studded lineup for January's renewal of the Temple Bar extravaganza
What started out in 2005 as a small, niche festival in Temple Bar has grown into one of the most exciting and engaging weekends on Dublin's musical calendar, and Tradfest 2015 will be celebrating a decade in action in real style.
Running January 28 - February 1, the weekend will celebrate not only the best in traditional Irish music, but also welcome the cream of folk, nu-folk, and even rock and roll talent to the cobbled streets of Temple Bar.
Illustrating this best is a man who encompasses all of the above genres, as the legendary Donovan tops the star-studded bill. The Rock'n'Roll Hall of Famer will perform on January 31, in the suitably spectacular surrounds of Dublin Castle.
Of course, spectacular settings are par for the course across the weekend; from the breathtaking nave of St Patrick’s Cathedral to the elegant proportions of City Hall, there's far more than just music to be experienced.
Other star attractions across the weekend include - deep breath - Hothouse Flowers, Cara Dillon, Danú, DeBARRA, Mick Flannery, Liam O'Flynn, Mícheal Ó Súilleabháin, John Sheahan, Declan O’Rourke and Susan McKeown. Brighton legends Levellers will be bringing their impressive back-catalogue of hits, as will Northern heroes The Undertones. Add in a whole host of thrilling acts joining in the festivities, and there's bound to be something to please everyone across the five days.
