Tickets for Anti-War gig still available

As George W. Bush’s visit to Ireland looms large on the horizon and ceremonial and security preparations go into the final phase, a different kind of welcome is being prepared elsewhere...

The Irish Anti-War Movement are pulling out all the stops in an effort to provide platforms for protest and raise awareness of troubling issues like as the unjustified Iraq war and the ensuing war crimes and human rights abuses.

The most prominent event will be the Anti-War gig, which takes place Saturday, June 19 at the Point and features such illustrious names as Christy Moore, Damien Rice, Kila, The Revs, Mary Black, Katell Keineg and guest comedian Barry Murphy, all taking a stand against the war and President Bush.

Tickets, priced €30 (standing) and €33.50 (seated) are still available from the usual outlets and all proceeds go to the Irish Anti-War movement.
