His pioneering band of experimental noiseniks might be on indefinite hiatus but that's not going to stop Sonic Youth's Thurston Moore turning up and plugging in.

A real treat for Belfast lovers of US alt, indie guitar hero Moore is on his way to The Stiff Kitten later this month.

For the January 22 show, he teams up with John Moloney (of Sunburned Hand Of The Man), having released the experimental Caught On Tape last year. Avant garde drone glory in excelsis!
