The legendary John Martyn plays Vicar Street
On his first tour for three years, the one and only Scottish- born singer/ songwriter/ guitarist John Martyn will be paying Dublin's Vicar Street, April 25. This should be a genuinely fantastic live event, as Martyn will be performing songs that span his entire career.
Combining elements of folk, rock, blues and jazz, Martyn is one of those songwriters who always defied convention, and remained absolutely true to himself.
Whether it is the heartfelt musings about his friend Nick Drake's demise on 'Solid Air', or the self- produced honesty of 'GlasgowWalker', or the musical innovation of 'Bless The Weather', Martyn has retained uncompromising integrity and unquestionable talent throughout his thirty- year career.
With a classic rock 'n' roll reputation matching his classic rock 'n' roll, coupled with that distinctive, painfully sincere voice this is one gig that really shouldn't be missed. Tickets, 35 euro, are available through Ticketmaster and usual outlets.
