The crying game

Bono and Gavin Friday co-pen 'Time Enough For Tears' for the new Jim Sheridan movie

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 29 Oct 2002

Following on from last year's Moulin Rouge soundtrack collaboration, Bono has joined Gavin Friday and Maurice Seezer in writing a song for the new Jim Sheridan movie, In America.

Explaining how 'Time Enough For Tears' came about, Friday says: "Bono saw the film and was blown away by it. He wanted to work with us and something happened, organically."

According to Gav, the song has a touch of the Cole Porters about it.

"It's very poetic, very romantic. It's got that 'You take away the sun' beauty and nakedness."

With the track "written from a girl's perspective", Friday says that they've asked Andrea Corr to handle vocal duties. As for the film, that'll be premiering here next April or May.
