The Wombats announce Irish dates
Highly-touted Liverpool combo the Wombats are coming to our shores for a three-date tour in May.
The Scouse-Scandinavian threesome will play Cyprus Avenue, Cork on May 25, Whelan's, Dublin on May 26 and the Speakeasy, Belfast on May 27.
Formed in 2003 at Paul McCartney's Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts, the band is made up of Matthew “Murph” Murphy (vocals, guitar, keyboard), Dan Haggis (drums, vocals) Tord Øverland Knudsen (bass, vocals). Their single 'Let's Dance To Joy Division' was an instant indie club classic and the band also made history last year when they became the first unsigned act ever to sell out Liverpool's Academy venue.
