Expect to hear a track or 12 from the London punk outfit's masterpiece, The Crack.
UK punk legends The Ruts celebrate the impending 40th birthday of their classic album, The Crack, with an extensive Irish and UK tour that draws to a close in the Dublin Button Factory (March 2) and Belfast Limelight (3).
“Making The Crack was a real game changer for me,” reflects co-founder Dave Ruffy. “The Ruts were a band that were greater than the sum of their parts and wrote music inspired by everything we had ever heard. It’s a piece of work that I am immensely proud to have been a part of. Now forty years on we will be playing the album in its entirety, it’s quite a challenge as some of the songs have not been played since 1980! Our legacy is large, and we are and will continue working hard to make this a great show.”
Support is provided by The Professionals, the band Paul Cook and Steve Jones set up following the split of the Sex Pistols, and which still features Cook on drums. Their new album, What In The World, features guest turns from fellow ‘70s punk veterans Marco Pirroni and Billy Duffy.
