The Radio conifrm album release
The Radio are set to unleash their sophmore album, and The Undertones are planning a release too.
The Radio have confirmed the release of Charm Offensive, their second collection of “spiky pop noise that prickles your body”.
According to the band, the record, out on July 20, “is inspired by “Stiff Records, Blondie, B52s, The Clash and The Stranglers and all the lovely music from 2006 including CSS, The Organ and Four Tet”.
You can get an idea of what they’ve nicked from whom courtesy of lead single ‘One Of Two Ways’, which is out this week.
Joining them on the racks shortly afterwards are The Undertones who are currently mixing the follow-up to 2003’s Get What You Need.
“It's called Dig Yourself Deep which is, we were delighted to discover, also the title of one of our new songs!” says Micky Bradley. “So far it has passed all the rigorous checking which all Undertones records have gone through. The songs are good, so are the performances. We left them in a bath full of cold water overnight, and they all came out very clean. Then we left them out in the sun for a few hours last week and now they're lovely and crisp.”
