The Raconteurs voted best song of 2006
The Raconteurs' 'Steady As She Goes' has been voted single of the year by Phantom FM listeners.
The song, which was released last April, features Jack White from The White Stripes, Brendan Benson and two members of The Greenhornes.
Incidentally, the song came second after 'When We Were Young' by The Killers in the Hot Press critics' poll. Click here for the full list.
Close behind the foursome in Phantom's reader poll were 'Let's Make Love And Listen To Death From Above' by Cansei de Ser Sexy and 'A Ghost In This House' by The Immediate.
“We were delighted to see a substantial number of Irish artists in the Top 105.2 Songs,” said Phantom's Music Director John Caddell. “It underlines the quality and popularity of local music.” Over a quarter of the songs appearing in the chart were Irish including Humanzi, Director, Bell X1, Star Little Thing, The Butterfly Explosion, Damien Rice, Straglers and Republic of Loose.
