The Pogues Confirm Extra Dublin Date
The Pogues have confirmed a second concert date in Dublin this December.
Already lined up to play the Olympia Theatre on Friday December 4, they will now play Saturday December 5 as well.
The Pogues will also play St. George's Market, Belfast, on December 2.
Formed in 1982, The Pogues scored a string of hit albums combining traditional Irish folk with a punk sprit, embodied by their notorious frontman and ace lyricist, Shane MacGowan.
MacGowan quit the group in 1991 and while the rest of the group carried on briefly (with ex-Clash man Joe Strummer occasionally providing vocals), they eventually called it quits in 1995.
The group reunited with MacGowan to the fore in 2001 for a UK tour and headlined the London Fleadh the following year and they have gigged regularly since.
Tickets will go on sale this Monday 12 October at 9.00am from Ticketmaster and usual outlets nationwide.
