The Ordinary Boys plan Irish tour

Samuel Preston goes back to his day job in March when The Ordinary Boys nip over for shows in Ireland.

The Hot Press Newsdesk, 27 Jan 2006

They'll play the Dublin Ambassador (March 16) and Belfast Mandela Hall (17).

Equal parts The Smiths, Jam and 2-Tone, the Worthing band will be showcasing 2005’s Brassbound album, which is enjoying a new lease of life thanks to the singer’s participation in Celebrity Big Brother.

Talking of which, it’ll be interesting to see what state Preston’s in after his (by then possibly ex-) girlfriend gets her hands on him.

The Ordinary Boys live @ Mandela Hall, Belfast

Few performances will have done more to shape the future of The Ordinary Boys than the ignoble appearance of frontman Samuel Preston on Celebrity Big Brother. Brassbound

With influences by The Jam, The Clash and the Smiths, shirts by Fred Perry and haircuts grade one, The Ordinary Boys couldn’t be any more British if they embarked on a Bank Holiday tour of sleepy seaside venues with amps draped in Union Jacks.
